Austin Richman, co-owner

Austin was born in Colorado Springs June 16 1979. He started yoga many years ago when his sister suggested it to him ever so nonchalantly. Being the extreme sport athlete he was at the time, he thought that it would not be much of a challenge. He was wrong and has his sister to thank for his love affair with yoga ever since. He became certified to teach in 2007 and has so much to be thankful for the ways the power of yoga has changed his life and led him into the lives of so many amazing people he would have otherwise not likely ever met. His philos-

ophies on teaching are the same simple ones of his yoga practice; keep doing and keep learning. Austin’s main interest aside from yoga is playing music in his two piece art-rock band Deuce with Jon Carpenter (Deuce also plays instrumental sets for special yoga classes as well). He trains capoeira and also teaches guitar at the Colorado Academy of Music and Dance He is a lover of (and in no particular order) animals, family, friends and Cass. He has no favorite color, but strawberry is, and always will be, his favorite flavor of ice cream.

Cassandra Green, co-owner

I grew up in rural Florida.  As a little girl, we played in bamboo forts, I ran around without shoes most of the time (thankfully I've returned to this), and we had 13 cats at any one time.  I believed in magic and the unseen. Tucked back in the forest, not far from my house, was a series of waterfalls that was legendary.  I often wandered or rode four wheelers with friends looking for them, hoping to see something enchanting.  I never saw them but to this day I believe they are there.  Then there were the things I saw but no one should believe, like the Aurora Borealis; my mother pulling us out of bed on a cold winter morning.  It was spectacular, red and green, and I

understood this was not supposed to be and I may never see it again.

Time moved forward.  I went to college and eventually moved to the biggest city I could near home, Gainesville.  After years of living in Florida, I got a job that relocated me to Colorado Springs.  Three years passed and then, it is here, I took my first yoga class. I came to yoga as one of those people who “always wanted to try it”.  And I did, I tried it three times and did not practice the postures again for an entire year.  Looking back now, it’s like a small spark was rekindled deep inside me.  For in that year in between, I came to practice it and did not even know.  I believed in things unseen again and I retreated into myself in both dark and light ways.  I came to recognize the misalignment of my life to my values; I quit my job trusting it would all work out.  That step opened my time and my mind and a spark became a fire.  Returning to asana, the only yoga I knew, I wondered how I could have stayed away so long.  Now, a little further down the line, my most important realization is that yoga has always been part of my life, part of me.  The energy, mysticism and belief in magic that I felt as a little girl has come full circle in cambio.  Each day is full of wonder and enchanting things happen all the time.

I enjoy all kinds of things in addition to teaching & practicing yoga.  I'm a realtor by trade so it makes me feel good to help people make really important decisions and find someplace special.  I also love to cook and have people over, spend time in my garden and be outdoors; ride motorcycles; be creative in various ways; and do pretty much anything with the people I love, my Pomeranian, Sophia, and her best friend, Diego.

cambio.Yoga Instructors

Jonathan Neely

Jonathan, originally from Birmingham, AL, decided to make the journey west to Colorado Springs in 1996 after completing his MA in English.  Since coming to the springs, he’s taken up snowboarding, woodworking, and weightlifting among other hobbies. He also returned to school and earned an MS in Electrical Engineering. Never did he imagine that he would also develop a passion for yoga and one day become a yoga teacher.

Jonathan came to the mat a couple of years ago looking for flexibility and the calming effect that he’d heard yoga would provide. Admittedly, he was a little hesitant that first yoga class.  Although he felt like a fish out of water, he was determined to keep an open mind and see what yoga had to offer.

Long after being able to touch his toes and achieving at least a little bit of that calm, he continues to come back to the mat regularly.  It didn’t take long for him to realize that yoga provides much more than flexibility and a calm mind.  It unites him with a community of people seeking to live authentically and provides a foundation for living a truly balanced and peaceful life on and off the mat.  When not on the mat, you’ll find him working as a systems engineer, at the lathe turning a wooden vessel, diving in whole heartedly to a home remodeling or landscaping project, or in the gym.

Whether you’re looking for another exercise class or a better understanding of yogic philosophy, he looks forward to sharing his passion for yoga with you.

Kari remembers first saluting the sun while ankle-deep in crab grass outside of her kindergarten classroom. Since that time she has learned a lot, forgotten more, and taught a little. Originally from Fort Collins, Kari came to Colorado Springs for college and received a BA in Anthropology from Colorado College. After a one-year walkabout in Santa Barbara County, she was more convinced than ever that Colorado is her home. Combining her loves of service and humor, Kari received her  Masters of

Nonprofit Management from Regis University and proudly reminds all that the MNM is the only advanced degree that shares it's name with a snack food. When the bears came in September of 2008 she realized it was time to stop spinning her wheels and start following her own north star. While she thinks bipedalism is grand, she hopes to reintroduce people to all eight limbs of yoga to help them better navigate the sticky web of life. She hopes to learn from you soon.

Suzanne Mariska Bishop

I arrived in Colorado Springs in July of 2009 with my husband, James, and my 1-year-old daughter, River.   Although we moved here to be closer to our family, we’ve also discovered an exciting and positive community that is full of potential.

As soon as I learned about the mission of cambio. yoga, I knew I wanted to be involved.   I began practicing yoga in 2003, and studied to be a teacher in 2004 at Shoshoni Mountain Ashram near Nederland, Colorado.

I still remember discovering the muscles in my hips for the first time, and the powerful connection I encountered between my breath and body.

My yoga practice has guided me through difficult times, and helped me prepare for the birth of my child.  In our culture, we are largely disconnected from our bodies and our spiritual selves.  Yoga (literally translating to “union”) is an effective path toward reconnection.  Making this powerful practice available and accessible to everyone is an idea whose time has come.  I am honored and delighted to be a part of the cambio. yoga community.

When I’m not practicing yoga, you can find me working in my garden, singing and drumming, cooking healthy meals, and of course spending lots of time with my beautiful little girl.

Janet Divitto, Hand Drums

I received a teaching degree from Kansas State Teachers College in 1973 and began teaching 6th grade and I found teaching to be a wonderful profession.  In every child there is someone who wants to learn and helping my students be successful was very rewarding to me.

We moved to beautiful cool Colorado Springs 28 years ago to start a new job and raise our children.  The drum beat caught me about 20 years ago and it's been a journey learning and playing with the masters throughout the United States.  It's the poly rhythms of the African genre that bring me the most pleasure.  They are challenging to play and joyful to hear and I've wanted to share them ever since.

In 1998 I produced a show at the Fine Arts Center presenting traditional West African rhythms played on African drums that received a standing ovation to a sold out crowd.

For the last 5 or 6 years I've been sharing the rhythms and drums in school wide presentations and city events, and now I'm looking forward to sharing my drums and rhythms with you.

Kelli Stanley, Reiki

Kelli Stanley always knew she would someday delve into the fantastical world of energy.  Three years ago she began taking yoga classes and receiving Reiki treatments simultaneously.  The breathing, energy and delight from each class and treatment complimented each other greatly, weaving colors and thoughts together like no other time in her life.  Soon after, she completed Reiki I and II classes with Deb Schubert and is working towards accomplishing level III.  Reiki is a hands-on healing technique used to balance our bodies via Universal Energy. Treven, her adorable 12 year old son, will tell you:

“Reiki feels like buzzing sensations and happy currents going through your body.”  Tessa, her precious 14 year old, will explain: “Reiki is as spiritual as you can get with just a touch of heat and fizzyness.”  Anyone can benefit!  Kelli also has a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and gets to work for Options for Long Term Care by day.  She often finds herself pondering the enormous blessings in her life, including offering Reiki through cambio.!
